The US Center for Medicare & Medicaid  (CMS) has set the New ICD-10 Compliance Date to October 1, 2015.  The transition to ICD-10 is required for everyone covered by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a rule finalizing Oct. 1, 2015 as the new compliance date for health care providers, health plans, and health care clearinghouses to transition to ICD-10. This deadline allows providers, insurance companies, and others in the health care industry time to ramp up their operations to ensure their systems and business processes are ready to go on Oct. 1, 2015.

Filopto already supports ICD-10 and the US version of Filopto will be automatically activated to begin using ICD10 for all US clients on October 1, 2015.

This has no effect for Canadian clients since Canadian province have been using ICD10 for some time.
